Bhagavad Gita Chapter 11, Verse 51
विश्वरूप दर्शन योग
॥ श्लोक ॥
अर्जुन उवाच | दृष्ट्वेदं मानुषं रूपं तव सौम्यं जनार्दन | इदानीमस्मि संवृत्तः सचेताः प्रकृतिं गतः ||११-५१||
Transliteration
arjuna uvāca . dṛṣṭvedaṃ mānuṣaṃ rūpaṃ tava saumyaṃ janārdana . idānīmasmi saṃvṛttaḥ sacetāḥ prakṛtiṃ gataḥ ||11-51||
English Translation
Arjuna said O Janardana, having seen this serene human form of Yours, I have now become calm in mind and restored to my own nature.
Detailed Commentary
"Having seen this gentle human form of Yours, O Janardana," – Upon witnessing Your form, manifesting as a human and performing divine *lilā*s, even cows, birds, trees, vines, and others become thrilled. Having beheld such a gentle, two-armed form, I have regained my consciousness; my mind has become steady – "now I am gathered, conscious." All the fear that seized me upon seeing the *Virāt Rūpa* (Cosmic Form) has now vanished, all distress has passed, and I have returned to my natural state – "returned to my true self." Here, the term 'sachetāḥ' signifies that when Arjuna's awareness turned towards the Lord's grace, he regained his senses and began to reflect: "Where am I, and where is the Lord's extraordinary *Virāt Rūpa*!" There is no merit or claim of mine in this; it is purely a matter of the Lord's grace. Context: Approving Arjuna's gratitude, the Lord says –
