Detailed Commentary

Some *sadhakas* experience the *Paramātmatattva* within themselves through *dhyāna*. This has been described in various chapters where methods of *dhyāna* are explained. Through *dhyāna*, one discerns *Prakṛti* and *Puruṣa* as distinct, leading to a severance of their connection. *Dhyāna* begins with a distracted mental state, and when the *citta* becomes concentrated, *samādhi* is attained. In this state, the *citta* becomes free from the world, the body, and discursive thought, and the *sādhaka* finds contentment within themselves. Other *sadhakas* experience the *Paramātmatattva* within themselves through *Sāṅkhya Yoga*. *Sāṅkhya Yoga* is based on *viveka*, through which a clear distinction is made between *sat* and *asat*. Through *viveka*, it is determined that *sat* is eternal and all-pervading, while *asat* is impermanent and subject to change. Through *viveka*, the *Sāṅkhya Yogī* separates themselves from *Prakṛti* and experiences the *Paramātmatattva*. Many *sadhakas* also experience the *Paramātmatattva* through *Karma Yoga*. A *Karma Yogī* performs every action for the welfare of the world, not for themselves. This detachment from action arises from knowing *Prakṛti* and *Puruṣa* as distinct, through which the *sādhaka* experiences the *Paramātmatattva* within themselves. Naturally, human beings identify with the body. To overcome this, it is essential to perceive the *Paramātmā* within oneself. The perception of *Paramātmā* does not depend on any external cause or condition. The *sādhaka* is inherently situated in the *Paramātmā* itself.
