Where there is Krsna, the Lord of yogas, and where there is Partha, the wielder of the bow, there are fortune, victory, prosperity and unfailing prudence. Such is my conviction.

Detailed Commentary

Where there is Krishna, the Lord of Yoga, and where there is Pārtha, the wielder of the bow—Sañjaya declares, "O King, where there is Bhagavan Krishna, the guide of Arjuna, there also is Arjuna, the devotee who abides by the Lord's command and the mighty archer. On that side are prosperity (Śrī), victory (Vijaya), power (Vibhūti), and unwavering righteousness (Acala Nīti). My conviction also lies there." When Bhagavan bestowed the divine vision upon Arjuna, Sañjaya had then referred to the Lord as Mahāyogeshvara. Now, recalling that very Mahāyogeshvara, he refers to Him as Yogeshvara here. He is the Master of all Yogas, and Arjuna is His follower, abiding by His command. Bhagavan Krishna is the instructor of all yogis, for His Yoga is perfect and established. His attributes like omniscience (Sarvajñatā), opulence (Aishvarya), beauty (Saundarya), and sweetness (Mādhurya) are inherent and boundless. In the first chapter, in the sequence of war declarations, Bhīṣma was the first to blow his conch. Bhīṣma was the chief of the Kaurava army, hence it was appropriate for him to blow the conch. However, Bhagavan Shri Krishna, being the charioteer in the Pāṇḍava army, blows His conch first to declare the war, which demonstrates His supreme significance. Throughout the Gītā, the address 'Pārtha' appears thirty-three times, while no other address for Arjuna has been used as frequently. The address 'Pārtha' is dear to the Lord, just as the address 'Krishna' is dear to Arjuna. In the Gītā, the address 'Krishna' has been used nine times. Finally, Sañjaya concludes the Gītā by mentioning the names of Shri Krishna and Arjuna. Qualities such as Śrī (prosperity), Vijaya (victory), Vibhūti (glory/power), and Dhruvā Nīti (unwavering righteousness) are ever present in the Lord and Arjuna. Wherever Bhagavan Shri Krishna and Arjuna are present, there will be infinite opulence (Aishvarya), sweetness (Mādhurya), and divine attributes. To Dhritarashtra's question regarding victory, Sañjaya has provided a clear answer here: the victory of the Pāṇḍuputras is assured. Thus concludes the eighteenth chapter of the Śrīmad Bhagavad Gītā.
